~Already Done~

5.November.2026

I said I decided to put to death every last thing that could hold me back. That word, decided, remains with me and will continue to.

A decision is something I choose to carry out that will bring life or death (Deuteronomy 30:19). If it depends on me, it depends on my strength that day, not His. So look at how Paul puts it.

Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Romans 6:6

Notice who did the crucifying. Paul does not say we crucified our old man. He says it was crucified with Him. It happened at the cross, and we were included.

That raises the question of what is left for us to do.

Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 6:11

Reckon translates the Greek word logizomai. It means to count something as it is, and here Romans 6:6 has already said it is done.

That is why I do not think dying to ourselves is about trying harder. It is about believing Him about what happened.

It also keeps the word dead from meaning empty. What died was the old self that ran my life. What is left is not nothing. It is Christ living in me, which is where Galatians 2:20 ends.

I have been considering the following question. Am I trying to finish what He started, or agreeing with what He already finished?

Make today count. See you tomorrow.
