25. October.2026.
We’ve looked at what it means to choose the fear of the Lord, and about being with Him before being sent. Both leave one question open. Where does what we carry come from, now that He is no longer walking beside us?
Jesus answered that at a feast, with a crowd around Him.
On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
John 7:37-39
Notice the order. First He says come, and drink. Only after that does He say what flows. The flow comes out of the one who has been drinking, not out of someone who is serving and trying hard. It flows out. A river is not a reservoir. It moves, and reaches places the one it flows from will never see.
John explains what Jesus meant. He was speaking of the Spirit, who had not yet been given because Jesus had not yet been glorified.
One of the speakers at the conference this weekend put it this way: the Spirit is no longer on us but in us, and one with us. Jesus told His disciples the same before He left.
The Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
John 14:17
That is the presence part of everything we have been walking through. The Name is what we go in, the authority is what stands behind us, and the Spirit is the One who goes with us and flows through us.
Peter said the same thing about Jesus Himself.
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
Acts 10:38
God was with Him. Another speaker pointed out that the same God is with us, and that we go and do the same.
I challenge all of us to ask ourselves this question. Am I drinking from Him every day so that something can flow out of me, or am I trying to pour out what I took in long ago?
Make today count and see you tomorrow.
