~Authorized~

22.October.2026

Yesterday we saw that the Name belongs to Jesus and that we go in it. The question that follows is who gave us the right to go.

Think about what a nation does when it sends an ambassador. It does not send someone to say what he thinks. It sends one person to speak for the whole nation, carrying a letter from its leader that shows who sent him. What he says is received as the word of the one who sent him, and an insult to him is an insult to the nation behind him.

I think Paul used that word so that we, as believers, can grasp this visualization for ourselves.

Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
2 Corinthians 5:20

An ambassador does not appoint himself. He is authorized, and everything he carries came from the one who sent him.

The book of Esther shows how far that goes. The king gave his ring, which carried his seal, to Mordecai, and told him and Esther to write what they chose in his name.

Write ye also for the Jews, as it liketh you, in the king’s name, and seal it with the king’s ring: for the writing which is written in the king’s name, and sealed with the king’s ring, may no man reverse.
Esther 8:8

The ring did not make Mordecai the king. It made what he wrote It made what he wrote just as if it was the king’s command, and no one could undo it. The power was never in the ring or in the man. It was in the king behind both. In that story he is a Persian king. In ours, He is Jesus, and this is a picture, not a doctrine.

Jesus did the same with His disciples, and notice the order.

Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.
Luke 9:1-2

He gave first, and then He sent. They did not go to prove themselves. They went in what was His, to do what He had sent them to do. That is what authorized means: not self-appointed, and not self-powered.

I recognize the gravity of this study, and I challenge myself to rise higher in honor of His holiness. I ask you to consider joining me in asking this question. Am I going as someone authorized by Him, doing what He has said, or going on my own, doing what I think and hoping He blesses my plans?

Make today count and see you tomorrow.
