~Not Flippant~

Final Thoughts On Your All-Inclusive Departure From “Normal”

Over this series we talked about where authority and dominion come from and what they were given to accomplish. Before we finish, there is something that has to be said about the weight of this. Authority never makes us casual with God, because the more He gives, the more He asks.

For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.
Luke 12:48 NKJV

God is God, and we are not Him. Everything we carry was handed to us, and nothing about it puts us on level ground with the One who handed it over. Even Michael the archangel, who is not weak, did not trust his own words when he stood face to face with the devil.

Yet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke you!
Jude 9 NKJV

Belief alone does not make us close to Him either. Scripture says even the demons have that much.

You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe, and tremble!
James 2:19 NKJV

They believe and they tremble, but they have no relationship with Him nor the possibility of such. That is the difference between knowing about God and really knowing Him, and it is the whole point of everything we have talked about.

So we hold what we have been given with both hands and a bowed head. We are not flippant, and we are not afraid in the wrong way, but aware of who gave it to us and what He asks of us in return.

Tomorrow we finish with the blessing that comes with that.

I challenge all of us to ask ourselves this question. Have I become casual with what has been entrusted to me?

Make today count and see you tomorrow.
