~Not Sloppy~

14.October.2026

An All-Inclusive Departure From “Normal”

Yesterday we said a starting point is never an excuse to be sloppy, so here is what sloppy looks like. It is living from Sunday to Sunday, expecting the pastor to pick up the pieces, and then going right back to life as if nothing ever changed. It is never really knowing Him, let alone asking Him to lead our daily lives, and if we do not really know Him, we will not ask.

Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven. Luke 10:20

The first thing to guard is not our results. It is our connection to Him.

For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Titus 2:11-12

The same grace that saves us teaches us how to live, so grace is never a license to live in such a way that does not honor Him. That connection has to be anchored somewhere, or it drifts into whatever feels right in the moment, which is exactly why some things aren’t up for negotiation.

That is also why the majors matter. We do not argue every tangent, but some things we stand firm on: that the Bible is our foundation and final authority, that God is one in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, that salvation is a free gift of grace through faith in Jesus Christ, that we live fully surrendered to Him as Lord, and that He is coming again. Other things I hold just as dearly and live out boldly, like the gifts of the Spirit and healing being for today, but I will not make them a test of fellowship.

Tomorrow we look at what healing looked like before the cross.

I challenge all of us to ask ourselves this question. Do I really know Him, and is He the one leading my days, or am I waiting for Sunday?

Make today count and see you tomorrow.
