Every post this week has aimed at one question underneath all the others. Once a tradition of men has been identified and set aside, what actually takes its place? Jesus answered that clearly to a woman who had spent her whole life inside an argument about the correct location and method of worship.
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
John 4:23-24
His answer bypassed the argument entirely. True worship was never secured by getting the external action exactly right. It has always been a matter of spirit, a real relationship between a real person and a real God, sustained the way a branch stays alive, by staying attached rather than by visiting occasionally. That is what continuous abiding actually is, not a mask put on once and then set aside, but a continuous flow never stops.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2
Renewing your mind is not the finish line in that verse. Proving God’s will, actually walking it out, is what the renewed mind is for. Paul had already told the same believers that God deals to every man the same measure of faith. A brand new believer is not underequipped compared to someone who has walked with God for decades. The difference is never the size of what was given, only how much of it has been applied. Faith becomes established through use, not through waiting to receive more of it before doing anything with what is already there.
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. 3 John 1:2
Outward prosperity follows soul prosperity, never the other way around. A soul kept well by staying in that continuous flow with Him naturally overflows toward the people around it, because He desires all men to be saved, and that desire was never meant to stay contained inside one person’s private worship. It moves outward, or it was never really understood in the first place.
I think back over this whole week. Corban, whited sepulchres, form without power, old wineskins, inherited empty ways. Every single one described a person relating to a system instead of towards God Himself. The way out was never a purer system. It was direct relationship, spirit meeting Spirit, a mind renewed enough to prove and not merely believe, a soul prospering enough to overflow toward someone else who needs exactly what has already been freely given to you.

Dear Heavenly Father,
I confess that I have sinned, and I believe Jesus died for my sins and rose again on the third day. I ask Jesus, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me.
