~ Seeds You Won’t See Grow, Part 2~

16.September.2026

There is a kind of growth that happens completely out of sight, and out of your control, no matter how much you wish you could speed it up or watch it happen in real time.

And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; and should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. Mark 4:26-29

He knoweth not how. That’s not a gap in the sower’s knowledge because he wasn’t paying attention. It’s simply how seeds work. He plants it, he sleeps, he rises, life continues, and somewhere underground, completely hidden from him, something is happening that he has no ability to see, speed up, or control. The growth isn’t dependent on him watching it. It happens because of what was planted and what the ground and the Author of growth do with it after that.

This is hard for those of us who like to measure progress, who want proof that our prayers are working, who want some kind of visible checkpoint along the way. But some of the most important growth in someone’s life happens exactly like this, underground, in seasons where nothing visible seems to be changing at all, while roots are quietly going down deep.

I think about that when I pray for people I love that I don’t get to talk to you, whose lives I no longer get a front row seat to. I cannot see what is happening beneath the surface. I do not get updates. I simply plant, I water when I can, and I trust that the same God who causes a seed to sprout without any help from the farmer is still working, even in silence, even when every visible sign says nothing has changed.

First the blade, then the ear, then the full corn. There is an order to this, and none of it can be rushed by my worry or my watching.

What are you still waiting to see grow? Can you trust Him with what’s happening underground while you wait?

If you have never given your life to Jesus Christ, you can do that right now. Pray this with me:

Dear Heavenly Father,

I confess that I have sinned, and I believe Jesus died for my sins and rose again on the third day. I ask Jesus, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Make today count and see you tomorrow.
