Knowing Him Daily

You weren’t meant to run on your own fuel. Every assignment He’s given you comes with His power to actually carry it out.

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Acts 1:8

Notice the order there. Power first, then witness. Jesus didn’t send His disciples out to figure it out through sheer determination. He told them to wait, to receive what they needed, and then go. If they needed that power, so do we. Willpower runs out, His power doesn’t…ever!

Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts. 
Zechariah 4:6

That verse was spoken over a man staring down an impossible task, rebuilding what felt too broken to finish. God’s answer wasn’t a pep talk about trying harder. It was a redirection. Not might, not power, meaning not your strength and not your effort alone, but His Spirit doing what in you  and through you could never accomplish with sheer grit.

This matters because so much of our exhaustion comes from trying to operate on empowerment we were never designed to generate ourselves. We push through burnout thinking it’s spiritual maturity. We grind through impossible situations convinced that if we just work harder, pray longer, or manage better, we’ll finally break through. But the breakthrough was never meant to come from your own supply.

He empowers you for exactly what He’s called you to do, nothing more manufactured, nothing borrowed from somewhere else. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is the source you’re drawing from, not your own reserve tank running on fumes.

Are you trying to do this in your own strength? Or are you actually drawing from His?

Dear Heavenly Father, 

I confess that I have sinned, and I believe Jesus died for my sins and rose again on the third day. I ask Jesus, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me.
