Knowing Him Daily

He doesn’t just live in you, He shows up for you, especially in the moments you don’t think you can hold yourself together.

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. John 14:26

Jesus didn’t leave you to figure life out on your own memory and willpower. He sent someone to stand in that gap, to teach and remind, so you’re never left guessing what’s true when things seem uncertain.

Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in tribulation, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. 2 Corinthians 1:4

Notice the pattern there. He comforts you, not so you stay comfortable, but so you have something real to hand to someone else who’s hurting. That’s how His comfort works. It doesn’t stop with you. It moves through you, because you are now His vessel to move through. 

Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort. 2 Corinthians 1:3

The God of all comfort, not some comfort, not comfort that runs out when the situation gets too heavy. All comfort. There’s no grief, no loss, no exhausted three am in the morning moment that’s outside what He’s able to reach you.

Think about the times you’ve needed comfort and it came from an unexpected place, a phone call, a scripture that landed just right, a friend who said the exact thing you needed to hear. That wasn’t coincidence, that was the Comforter working, often through people, sometimes directly, always intentionally.

You were never meant to carry hard seasons alone, gritting your teeth and pushing through on empty. He sent someone to walk through it with you.

Where do you need His comfort today, and are you willing to receive it instead of white knuckling through on your own?

Dear Heavenly Father, 

I confess that I have sinned, and I believe Jesus died for my sins and rose again on the third day. I ask Jesus, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me.
