Knowing Him Daily

We end this week where every believer eventually has to land. Not in what you’ve done, not in what you’re still working through, but in who you are now that you’re found in Him.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17

New creature. Not improved, not patched up, not managed. New. The old identity, the old labels, the old ways of measuring your worth, they’re gone. Not hidden, but passed away. What replaces them isn’t a better version of who you used to be. It’s something the old you never was.

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20

That’s the whole week summed up in one verse. He became like you. He understood you. He chose the cross for you. He advocates for you. He gave you authority. He’s coming back for you. And now, He lives in you. You’re not found standing next to Him. You’re found in Him, so wrapped into His life that Paul couldn’t even separate his own pulse from Christ’s.

This is why identity built on anything else eventually cracks. A job title changes. A relationship ends. A season passes. But being found in Him isn’t a season. It’s not performance based, and it’s not circumstance dependent. It’s who you are now, permanently, because of what He already did.

So when the accusations come, when the old labels try to resurface, when you’re tempted to define yourself by a mistake or a failure or what someone else said about you, remember where you’re actually found. Not in your record. In Him.

Dear Heavenly Father,
