Knowing Him Daily

We’ve spent this week building toward this moment. He became like you, fully human, fully vulnerable to rejection and grief. He understood you, not from a distance but from firsthand experience. He chose the cross for you, loving you before you ever existed, making a way where there seemed to be no way. And now, He does something even more astonishing. He stands as your advocate.

My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 1 John 2:1

An advocate isn’t a distant judge waiting to condemn you. It’s someone standing beside you, representing you, speaking on your behalf. This advocate isn’t reluctant or half-hearted about it. He’s righteous, meaning He has every right to stand in that gap, and He chooses to use that position for you.

Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. Hebrews 7:25

He ever liveth. Not once, nor occasionally, but continually, right now, interceding for you. That’s what makes this relationship so different from human advocacy, which runs out of energy, attention, or willingness eventually. His intercession never stops. He’s not waiting for you to mess up so He can distance Himself. He’s actively representing you before the Father at this very moment.

Think about everything we’ve covered. The Son, Jesus Christ, who loved you enough to become like you, who understood your grief because He lived it, who chose the cross deliberately, before you ever chose Him, is the same One standing before the Father right now, advocating on your behalf. Not because you earned it. Not because you’re keeping some invisible scorecard clean, because He loves you, and He’s righteous enough to make that advocacy effective.

You are never facing the Father alone. He’s already there, speaking for you.

Dear Heavenly Father, 

I confess that I have sinned, and I believe Jesus died for my sins and rose again on the third day. I ask Jesus, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me.
