Knowing Him Daily

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 
Matthew 6:33

Seeking Him first has to be our priority. Knowing Him daily must be the cry of our hearts. When that order is settled, we start to understand what His provision is actually meant to look like.

Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? For your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 
Matthew 6:31-32

Notice something important here. We’re not told to anxiously ask for what we need. We’re told our Father already knows. That takes the anxious petitioning out entirely and replaces it with trust. He already knows before you even voice it.

And my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19

That promise comes right after Paul thanks the Philippians for meeting his own need through their generosity. There’s a real principle here: when we meet the needs of others, God meets our needs, and our wants too, out of the overflow of His riches, not just sufficiency.

Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. Luke 6:38

But here’s what nobody tells you about provision: it doesn’t always come on our timetable. Maybe it’s not just a place to live. Maybe it’s a good friend seeking God as wholeheartedly as you are. Maybe it’s a spouse. Maybe it’s a vehicle to get from one place to another. Technically, all of these are needs, but they can drift into want territory depending on how we hold them.

When we’re believing for something and we don’t have a visual on it yet, when all hope looks gone, we still have to choose to trust and believe.

Though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
Habakkuk 2:3

During that wait, we keep our eyes on the Word and keep doing what He’s already told us to do, actively, with excellence. We don’t complain. We don’t speak against it. We thank God every time we think of it, because our words carry weight even in the waiting.

There will be people who know your situation, who ask, “I thought you said you had that handled?” or “Didn’t you say this was already taken care of?” You don’t tangibly see it yet, so of course they can’t see it either. But you know it’s coming, in God’s time, His timing, not ours. Our words affect everything, because everything is spiritual, and nothing is truly private. What’s hidden will eventually be revealed and exposed. But if we speak the wrong thing instead of the right thing in that moment of pressure, our words might actually cause what was coming to be removed or delayed. Is it worth speaking doubt just to satisfy someone else’s question? It never is.

Relative to the rest of the world, even lower income people here in the United States technically have more than most of the world will ever see. But we have so many things pulling at us to spend it, usually on ourselves rather than on others, that we often forget how important it is to be frugal for the right reasons…meeting others needs. 

How many times have we bought something new simply because we got bored with the old? Every time I travel, I realize how ridiculous that habit really is. People in the early 1900s didn’t get bored with their surroundings and change the paint, the decor, the furniture, the whole house. They were simply grateful to have a place to live, shoes to put on their feet, and enough in their home to be comfortable.

Now we feel we have to have the latest and greatest, always seeking something bigger and better. That’s not what I’m talking about here. I’m talking about trusting a Father who already knows what you actually need, who provides according to His riches, not our restlessness, and who asks us to hold what we have with gratitude while we wait on what’s still coming. https://youtube.com/shorts/TvnR3Ey4iCw?is=JYtKus829fmsLFK-

If someone questioned your faith today, would your words build what you’re waiting for, or tear it down?

If you’ve never given your life to Jesus, or if you’ve walked away, trying to do life your own way it’s not too late. He’s calling you back. He’s been waiting. Return to Him today. Surrender your plans, your pain, and your past. He’s ready to restore, renew, and realign you with your divine purpose.

Dear Heavenly Father

Thank You for sending Jesus to die on the Cross just for me. I admit that I have sinned, and I repent. I ask You to forgive me. I believe that He died and rose again. Right now, I make Him the Lord of my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. My sins are washed away, my past is forgiven, and my future is bright. Thank you for saving me.
