~Deed & Truth, vs. Word & Tongue~

13.August.2026

What we truly think and believe will show up in our words and our actions. Some of it can be faked for a while, but eventually the truth will come out. Nothing stays hidden forever.

For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad. Luke 8:17

We can trace this all the way back to its root. “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. “Eat and drink!” he says to you, But his heart is not with you.” Proverbs‬ ‭23‬:‭7‬

What you believe internally eventually becomes who you are externally. It always surfaces.

My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. 1 John 3:18

That’s the standard. Not your word, not your tongue, but your deeds and truth. Love that’s real shows up in action, not just in what you say about yourself or what you claim to believe.

Sometimes when someone is praying over you, walking in real authority, they’ll speak directly to what’s hidden and declare that it will be revealed, exposed, and removed. Believing believers can walk in that kind of authority. To some, it might look arrogant or prideful, but it’s not. If it’s real, because God has given every believer all authority in heaven and on earth.

Being fully in, fully surrendered, is critical, and here’s where it becomes a dividing line. We have to choose.

I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life. Deuteronomy 30:19

We have to draw hard lines. Not everyone will agree with you. Not everyone will applaud you for it. Get used to that. Ultimately, it’s you and Him, and that’s okay. You’re not lonely, you have Him.

That’s the whole point of deed and truth over word and tongue. It’s not about performing love or performing authority for an audience. It’s about walking it out consistently, even when it costs you approval, even when it means standing alone, because what’s true on the inside will always show up on the outside eventually. Today, make certain what’s showing up is real.

If you have never given your life to Jesus Christ, you can do that right now. Pray this with me:

Dear Heavenly Father,
I confess that I have sinned, and I believe Jesus died for my sins and rose again on the third day. I ask Jesus, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

Make today count and see you tomorrow.
