Knowing Him Daily

Resting while you stand is a mindset. It’s a heart attitude, an internal posture rooted in full confidence in Jesus, His Word, and the results, because none of it depends on our own intrinsic ability. It’s His authority operating through us. We are simply the willing conduit.

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil… Stand therefore. ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭11‬,‭14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Standing firm doesn’t mean striving. It means holding your ground because you know who is actually fighting the battle. The Bible tells us plainly: God never leaves us, and He never forsakes us. NEVER. That means our confidence is not contingent on what we can currently see. When you lay hands on someone and they say, “Well, I wasn’t healed,” your response can be confident and settled: yes, you were. You were healed when Jesus died, and I just released that authority into your body.

Consider the pattern here. Isaiah prophesied it. With his stripes we are healed. That was spoken before the cross, forward-looking, prophetic. Then Jesus fulfilled it. And after the fact, Peter confirms it in past tense: by whose stripes ye were healed. Prophecy, fulfillment, and confirmation. The language shifts because the event happened.

But here’s what settles it even further. During His earthly ministry, before the cross, Jesus healed the sick, fed multitudes, calmed storms, cast out demons, and raised the dead. And here’s the thing: no one receiving those miracles was born again. They couldn’t be. The cross hadn’t happened yet. There was no one saved the way we recognize salvation now, no indwelling Holy Spirit, no covenant standing in Him. Every miracle flowed purely from His compassion and His authority as the Son of God walking the earth, given freely to people entirely outside the covenant.

So if that much power and provision flowed to people with no covenant standing at all, how much more is available now, fully purchased, fully finished, to those of us who are actually born again, actually IN Him, actually walking in what He already paid for?

There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

That is what makes resting possible. You don’t have to strive, beg, or wonder if it’s going to work this time. You stand firm, and you rest, because the outcome was never dependent on your own strength in the first place. It depends on Him, and He already finished the work.
