Knowing Him Daily

Now that you understand the difference between confession and declaration, the next question is knowing which one the moment calls for.

Confession fits when you’re dealing with something already established as Truth (separate from fact), something you simply need to align yourself with. Sin you need to acknowledge and release.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. ‭‭1 John‬ ‭1‬:‭9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

That’s confession. You’re agreeing with what God already says is true about forgiveness, about cleansing, about your standing before Him.

Declaration is different. Declaration fits when you’re facing something that hasn’t manifested in your life the way God intended, but you carry authority over it. Understand something first: God never intended for believers to be sick. Once you are born again, His will is for you to walk in health one hundred percent of the time. But if you or someone you love is facing sickness right now, that is exactly when you take authority over it with declaration. 

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. ‭‭John‬ ‭10‬:‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Sickness is not from Him. It comes from the thief. But abundant life, health, wholeness, that is what He came to give. So when sickness shows up, you don’t just speak your own words hoping something happens. You declare healing, and like Jesus modeled in the wilderness, you speak the Word itself. You don’t speak your own reasoning or your own feelings. His Word is what you speak  with authority.

Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways. ‭‭Job‬ ‭22‬:‭28‬ ‭KJV‬‬

That is declaration. You decree it. You establish it by speaking what God has already made available, calling it into your circumstance with the authority you were given.

So here is the practical test: are you agreeing with what is already true, something settled and finished, like forgiveness or your identity in Him? That’s confession. Or are you facing something that hasn’t yet aligned with God’s will and something you have authority to change? That’s declaration. You speak His Word over it, the same way Jesus did, and you call it into being.

Both matter and both have their place. Knowing which one the moment requires is what moves you from simply believing to actually walking in what’s yours.

Dear Heavenly Father, 
I confess that I have sinned, and I believe Jesus died for my sins and rose again on the third day. I ask Jesus, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me.
