Knowing Him Daily

“Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth.” Matthew‬ ‭28‬:‭18‬ ‭NLT‬‬

All authority and that is your starting point.

And here’s what I’ve learned about identity and position. You are not separate from that authority. You are IN Him.

At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. ‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. ‭‭John‬ ‭15‬:‭4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

That I may be in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. ‭‭John‬ ‭17‬:‭23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God.” Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I think about Russian nesting dolls. You know the ones, the beautiful wooden hand-painted dolls where each one opens to reveal a smaller doll nested inside. The outer doll is just a shell. It protects what is inside, but it is not what matters. What matters is that the innermost doll, the one no eye can see unless the outer shells are removed, is safe. Hidden. Untouched. Protected completely.

That is your position. You are nested inside Jesus. Inside God. Not just covered by them. Not just protected on the outside, but hidden. The principalities and powers that come after you cannot reach what is inside. They cannot see it. They cannot touch it. Because you are IN Him.

The Lord’s portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance. He found him in a desert land, and in the howling waste of the wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye. ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭33‬:‭12‬ ‭KJV‬‬  

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.‭‭Psalm‬ ‭23‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I would like you to see what sets your day in motion: your quiet time with Him, first thing. It does not have to be long and can be five minutes. Simply say “Father, I’m here. I love you. I worship you. I honor you. I thank you for everything You’ve done for me. I thank you for the opportunities You’ve given me. I thank you for blessing my life. I thank you for bringing people into my life.” Speak what is on your heart.

There is no system required. There is no perfect formula. Simply love Him and let Him love you back.
