Knowing Him Daily

We live in a world of so many unknowns. Uncertainty. Fear. Questions with no answers. But there is One thing we can have complete confidence in. And when we know Him, when we know His word, then we know His voice. When we know His voice, then we are like a horse with a bridle in its bit. We are fully surrendered. He can do whatever He needs to do with us, but obviously not without our choosing.

But here is what haunts me. What if you knew that it was the last time you were going to see your grandmother and she has lived a life of traditional church but does not know about being born again or true salvation? What if you knew it was your neighbor’s last day on this earth and they do not know Jesus? There are so many things that we do not know. But He does.

He will tell us of things to come. ‭‭John‬ ‭16‬:‭13‬

We are instructed to take the Bible literally. It is simple. It is not always easy. But it is simple.

Jesus answered, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.” ‭‭John‬ ‭4‬:‭10‬

When we think about all He has done for us, we are not the thief on the cross next to Jesus, but He has done so much for us. It is such an honor to share what we have been given. Salvation is not just so we have a place to go when we die. For some, because they have not heard, that will be all they ever experience. Not the glory of knowing Him. Not the freedom. Not the power. Not the transformation. Just the knowledge that He exists and they said no.

The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13‬:‭44‬

When we pass by somebody we do not know and the Lord wants us to share Him with them, will we pass on by because we are embarrassed? Because we do not know what to say? Because we do not have time? None of those hold water with the Father. We are called to excellence. We are called to a higher place. We are called to be the people He needs us to be right now.

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me. ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭3‬:‭20‬

So here is the question that this entire series has been building toward. If you knew Him like this, if you truly knew Him, would He mean everything to you? Would you stop living for yourself? Would you move when He called? Would you open your mouth when He nudged you? Would you drop your agenda and pick up His? Would you sacrifice your comfort for someone’s eternity?

Share what you know. If that is all you know, that is enough. You have the mind of Christ. You have His power. You have His authority. You have His word. That is all you need to know.

This is the honor and the responsibility of knowing Him. Not just for you. For them. For the ones who do not know yet. For the ones you pass by every single day. What will you do when you know?

Dear Heavenly Father, I confess that I have sinned, and I believe Jesus died for my sins and rose again on the third day. I ask Jesus, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me.
