Knowing Him Daily

There is no foundation for anything else until He is your everything. Not eventually, not someday when you have it all figured out. Now. Because the moment you take your eyes off Jesus, you start to sink just like Peter did out there on the water.

Our identity and our righteousness have to be settled in Him completely. This is not negotiable. Everything we believe, every single thing, flows through the life of Jesus we read in the New Testament. And here’s what we sometimes forget: He is woven throughout every book of the Bible, sometimes literally, sometimes as a type and a shadow. That means when we truly know who He is, we have a firm belief in Him and in His authority over everything. Nothing can defeat His word in any way.

We are called as believers to grow up in all things in Him. But here is where it gets practical: we cannot grow up in Him without understanding something fundamental about faith itself. Consider these three statements, because they anchor everything:

Anything not of faith is sin. ‭‭Romans‬ ‭14‬:‭23‬

The just shall live by faith. ‭‭Habakkuk‬ ‭2‬:‭4‬

It is impossible to please God without faith. ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11‬:‭6‬

Do you see it? You cannot function as a believer without faith. You cannot move forward, you cannot grow, you cannot even praise Him without faith. So where does faith come from? Faith is found when the will of God is known. When you understand what God wills for you, when you see it in His word, faith isn’t manufactured or forced, it’s birthed in you. And then you have to be fully convinced and fully persuaded in what you believe. That conviction, that deep settling in your spirit, is enough. He is enough.

This is the anchor point. This is where you stop drifting and plant yourself in who He is.

Dear Heavenly Father, 
I confess that I have sinned, and I believe Jesus died for my sins and rose again on the third day. I ask Jesus, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me.
