Knowing Him Daily

That is where this has to begin, because before we can ever talk about who is called to go, we have to settle without any doubt who God actually wants reached. All. Not most. Not the ones who look close enough already. All.

“The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient with you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9 Not one person is written off in that verse. Not the one who has walked furthest away. Not the one who has done the worst things. Not the one who feels like there is too much wreckage behind them to ever be reached. Not any.

This is good, and it pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. 1 Timothy 2:3-4 This is not God hoping quietly from a distance. This is His stated will, plainly, everyone, and it pleases Him, it is not a reluctant concession, it is exactly what His heart wants.

For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 Everyone who believes. The invitation was never narrowed down by background, by how far someone has wandered, by what they have done or where they have been. It was only ever narrowed by receiving and believing, which means the door itself has always been open wide.

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭He did not wait for anyone to clean up first. He did not require worthiness as a condition. The sacrifice was made for people exactly as broken as they already were, in the middle of their mess, before a single thing changed.

So hear this clearly today, if you have ever felt like you were too far gone, too messed up, too unqualified to matter to Him, that feeling was never the truth. All means all, and that includes you.

If you have never given your life to Jesus Christ, you can do that right now. Pray this with me: 

Dear Heavenly Father, 
I confess that I have sinned, and I believe Jesus died for my sins and rose again on the third day. I ask Jesus, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me.
