~Bold or Unbold~

10.July.2026

There is no in-between version of this. You are either bold or you are unbold, and so much of the Christian life we see modeled around us today has tried to invent a comfortable middle ground that scripture simply does not offer. We want to be liked and bold. We want to be safe and bold. We want to keep every relationship smooth and unruffled while still somehow being the light we were called to be, and it simply does not work that way. Boldness by its very nature costs you something, and if it has not cost you anything yet, it may be worth asking honestly whether you have actually walked in it.

“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus.”

‭‭Acts‬ ‭4‬:‭13‬‬‬ What amazes me as I read this is that nobody considered Peter and John’s credentials, because they did not have any. They were unlearned men, ordinary men, and yet the boldness pouring out of them was so unmistakable that it marked them and they could only consider one possible conclusion, that these men had been with Jesus. That is what real boldness does. It does not point back to your own training or your own polish. It points straight to Whose presence you have been sitting in.

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭1‬:‭16‬ ‭Shame and boldness cannot occupy the same space. Honestly, most of what keeps us unbold is not conviction, it is the fear of being misunderstood, judged, outdated in what we believe, and Paul answers that before it even has room to take root in us. He was not ashamed, and neither should we, because what we are carrying is not embarrassing, it is power and brings life.

“And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” Mark‬ ‭16‬:‭17‬-‭18‬ ‭ This is not a passage for those gifted among us, it is the normal Christian life as Jesus described it. This should stir something in us that we have settled so far below what was actually promised to us as children of the Most High God.

Bold or unbold. There is no third option waiting for you today.

If you have never given your life to Jesus Christ, you can do that right now. Pray this with me:

Dear Heavenly Father,

I confess that I have sinned, and I believe Jesus died for my sins and rose again on the third day. I ask Jesus, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

Make today count and see you tomorrow.
