~Flesh, You Don’t Win~

11.June.2026

There is a war going on inside you every single day, and it is not between you and the devil, it is between your spirit and your flesh, and the one that wins is the one you feed, the one you listen to, the one you choose to make the final call.

Paul was not being poetic when he wrote this: “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.” Galatians 5:16-17 Contrary. Opposed. Pulling in opposite directions at the same time, which means every moment of every day you are casting a vote for one or the other whether you realize it or not.

ALL IN means your spirit wins, not because your flesh stopped showing up, but because you made a decision in advance about who is in charge, and you hold that line even when everything in you wants to negotiate.

It does not have to be a dramatic moment for it to be a real one, because sometimes it is dishes after breakfast when you would rather leave them, or making a bed you just want to fall back into, or choosing the thing that is right over the thing that is easy when nobody is watching and nothing significant is at stake except the habit you are either building or breaking, because those small moments are where ALL IN actually lives.

Paul understood this: “But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.” 1 Corinthians 9:27 He was not passive about it and neither can you be, because your flesh will not volunteer to sit down, because you have to tell it to.

For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. Romans 8:13 That is not a suggestion made in grace, it is a promise made that is a choice, and the choice is yours every single morning you wake up.

Flesh, you don’t win. Say it like you mean it.

Make today count and see you tomorrow.
