~The Prayer of Faith~

29.May.2026

There is a moment that many people miss.

Jesus cursed a fig tree and walked away. He did not stand over it and watch. He did not check back an hour later to see if anything had changed. He spoke, and He moved on. The next morning the disciples saw it, withered from the roots, completely dead, and they marveled. “How did the fig tree wither at once?” (Matthew 21:20).

It did not wither at once. It died at once. The withering just took until morning.

This is one of the most important things you will ever understand about faith and prayer. The moment you pray and believe, something happens. Not something that might happen. Something that has happened. The answer is released the instant faith is applied. But the evidence has a timeline that belongs to God, not to you. And if you do not understand that, you will look at an unchanged situation the next morning and conclude your prayer did not work, when the truth is it is already done and the visible world has not caught up yet.

Jesus did not leave them there in their confusion. He turned the dead tree into a classroom. “Whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them” (Mark 11:24). Believe that you receive, present tense. Not when you see it, or when it feels and appearstrue. Now. The moment you pray.

And “whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith” (Matthew 21:22).

So what do you do between the prayer and the evidence? You stand. Not anxious, or rehearsing whether it will happen, or even digging up the roots to check on the progress. A farmer would lose his crop if he did that. You stand in confidence because you are not standing on a formula or a feeling. You are standing on a Person, His Word, His character and the authority He gave you to use as your own.

Ephesians 6 says after you have done everything, stand. That is not a passive posture. That is the an aggressive posture a believer can do in the face of an unchanged circumstance. It is your declaration that you prayed, you believed, you received it in the spirit, and you are not moving.

You are not waiting to see if it works. You are watching for what you already know is coming. There is a difference and it will change everything about how you pray.

Speak it as accomplished. Walk in it as settled. Stand in confidence not because of who you are, but because of who has your back.

He does, He always has.

If you’ve never surrendered to Jesus or have strayed, it’s not too late. He’s waiting to restore and renew you. Return to Him today and say this out loud:

Dear Heavenly Father ~

Thank You for sending Jesus to die on the Cross just for me. I admit that I have sinned, and I repent. I ask You to forgive me. I believe that He died and rose again. Right now, I make Him the Lord of my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. My sins are washed away, my past is forgiven, and my future is bright. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ Name,

Amen.

Make today count and see you tomorrow.
