~Stir It Up~

26.May.2026

No one is going to do this for you.

That is not a harsh word, but a freeing one. Because this means the flame is not out. It means the responsibility is yours, and yours alone, which is actually good news because you are not waiting on anyone else to move first.

Paul told Timothy, “I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you”(2 Timothy 1:6). Stir it up. That is an active instruction. It is something you do, not something that happens to you. The gift is already there. The fire is already there. But a fire that is not tended will go from a flame to an ember to ash, and the difference between those three things is not the wood. It is the attention. We must never let the fire go out!!

The Holy Spirit is a gentleman. God will not force Himself on you. He will soften your heart, He will send people across your path, He will whisper and draw you and wait…on you. He will not override your will. He never has because that is not how love works.

So what does stirring it up actually look like? It looks like opening the Word before you open anything else. It looks like getting quiet enough to hear and honest enough to listen. This is not about a performance, or a checklist. It’s having a real conversation with a real God about where you actually are, where He actually wants you to go, and what you think you have heard, staying in it long enough to know for certain.

You fan a flame by getting close to it and giving it air. You fan the fire of God in your life the same way. Draw close to Him, give Him room, then do it again tomorrow.

Stir it up. Nobody else is coming to do it for you. And you already have everything you need.

If you’ve never surrendered to Jesus or have strayed, it’s not too late. He’s waiting to restore and renew you. Return to Him today and say this out loud:

Dear Heavenly Father ~

Thank You for sending Jesus to die on the Cross just for me. I admit that I have sinned, and I repent. I ask You to forgive me. I believe that He died and rose again. Right now, I make Him the Lord of my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. My sins are washed away, my past is forgiven, and my future is bright. Thank you for saving me.

In Jesus’ Name,

Amen.

Make today count and see you tomorrow.
