~This Is Still the Place~

25.May.2026

“And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut. Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you’” (Matthew 25:10-12).

The door was shut.

Jesus told this story about ten young women waiting for a bridegroom. They all knew he was coming. They all showed up. They all had lamps. But when he finally arrived, only five got in. The other five had let their oil run out, and when the door closed, it did not open again.

This is not a story about people who never believed. This is a story about people who were waiting for the right bridegroom and still missed him. They had belief but were not prepared. A lamp without oil. And oil, represents the presence and work of the Holy Spirit in a life, is not something you can borrow from someone else now or at the last minute. It is built in private and cultivated daily. It is the result of a relationship that goes far beyond knowing about Him and moves into actually knowing Him.

Head knowledge is not enough. Mental assent is not enough. Saying a prayer once is not enough, and even performing miracles is not enough, because Jesus himself said that some who prophesied and cast out demons in His name would hear the words, “I never knew you” (Matthew 7:23). The operative word is knew. Intimate. Personal. Cultivated. The kind of knowing that costs you something every single day.

There is no lukewarm finish line. It is hot or cold. Revelation 3:16 does not leave room for comfortable middle ground. And the lines at the end of this age are not drawn by nationality, age, background, or religion. They are drawn by one thing, did you know Him, and did you let Him know you?

We are at the end of the race, not the middle, not the beginning. The end. And the end of a race is not where you slow down. It is where you find out what you are actually made of. Runners I’ve heard call it being in “the zone.” It is where everything you have been building, every day of faithfulness, every act of obedience, every step of preparation, either holds or it doesn’t.

This is still the place. The Word,  prayer, surrender. The daily returning to the only One who can fill your lamp and keep it burning.

Knowing Him daily is not a tagline. It is the only strategy that wins. I’m not saying this just for your benefit because I’m also challenging myself.

Run. 🔥

If you’ve never surrendered to Jesus or have strayed, it’s not too late. He’s waiting to restore and renew you. Return to Him today and say this out loud:

Dear Heavenly Father ~

Thank You for sending Jesus to die on the Cross just for me. I admit that I have sinned, and I repent. I ask You to forgive me. I believe that He died and rose again. Right now, I make Him the Lord of my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. My sins are washed away, my past is forgiven, and my future is bright. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ Name,

Amen.

Make today count and see you tomorrow.
