~Peace That Passes Understanding~

22.May.2026

If you are not at ease, something is not right.

This isn’t one of those hollow, worn-out phrases. This is actually useful information, a diagnostic of sorts. The peace of God is not a feeling you work yourself into. It is not the absence of hard circumstances. It is a supernatural stillness that stands guard over your heart and mind even when nothing around you has resolved. Paul called it a peace “which surpasses all understanding” and said it would guard your heart and mind through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). That peace is your baseline. When it is gone, pay attention.

Colossians 3:15 says to let the peace of God rule in your hearts. The word rule there means to umpire, to call the plays, to settle the questions, to decide what stays and what goes. Peace is not the reward at the end of good decisions. Peace is the umpire that helps you make them.

Here is what that means practically: if something has your stomach in a knot, if there is a low-grade anxiety running under your day, if rest feels just out of reach, that is information. You have not lost your mind. You may have lost your footing, and the way back is not trying harder. Jesus was clear about this. “My yoke is easy and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:30). If what you are carrying feels crushing, or you feel like you cannot breathe, it is worth asking whether He is the one who handed it to you. (…or were you?)

We were never meant to do this in our own strength. When there is a wind at your back, when things have a flow to them, when doors open without you forcing them, that is not luck. That is alignment. And when fear shows up, when worry creeps in, when doubt starts narrating your day, recognize it for what it is. Fear is not just an emotion. It is an invitation to let something other than God take the wheel. “I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life” (Deuteronomy 30:19). He will not force your hand. He is a gentleman. But He is waiting.

Choose trust. Choose peace. Not because your circumstances deserve it, but because He does.

His yoke is easy. His burden is light. And His peace, the real thing, passes anything your understanding could manufacture on its own.

If you’ve never surrendered to Jesus or have strayed, it’s not too late. He’s waiting to restore and renew you. Return to Him today and say this out loud:

Dear Heavenly Father ~

Thank You for sending Jesus to die on the Cross just for me. I admit that I have sinned, and I repent. I ask You to forgive me. I believe that He died and rose again. Right now, I make Him the Lord of my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. My sins are washed away, my past is forgiven, and my future is bright. Thank you for saving me.

In Jesus’ Name,

Amen.

Make today count and see you tomorrow.
