~Who You Actually Are~

09.May.2026

You can listen to Colton Dixon’s “Through All of It” here: https://youtu.be/G0Dzh3RZn0E?si=LcpiXajnitKLNVIK

We made it to completion, and before anything else I want to say this: if you have walked through this entire series, something happened in you this week whether you felt it or not. You looked at your story honestly, you named what was survival and what was design, you sat with the grace of understanding why you functioned the way you did, and you let God show you who was underneath all of it. That is not a small thing, and it is actually a very brave thing.

Now we walk in it.

For we are His workmanship, Paul wrote in Ephesians 2:10, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. His workmanship, not the survival version, not the adapted version, not the role you didn’t choose, but His workmanship, designed before the foundations of the earth with specific good works already prepared and waiting for you to step into them.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, Jeremiah 29:11 says, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. A future and a hope, not a future shaped by what you had to survive, but one designed by the One who knew you before any of it happened.

Through this entire series, Colton Dixon has been singing what most of us feel but struggle to say out loud, days of giving more than you had, choices you wouldn’t make again, joy and regret and troubled times, and then the only landing place that makes any sense, You have been my God through all of it. That is the testimony of this series in one line, through the roles and the survival and the adaptations and the quiet season and the uncovering and the surrender, through all of it He was God, He never left, He never forgot you, and He was always right there holding the thread of who you actually were.

And Thomas Chisholm said it another way, one that has been sung in churches for over a hundred years and never gets old, Great Is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father, there is no shadow of turning with Thee, Thou changest not, Thy compassions they fail not, as Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be. That is who He is, unchanging and faithful and present through every single season of your life, including the ones you are only now beginning to understand. https://youtu.be/ErwiBz1QA4o?si=gX7RxPtq9nc6Mc4s

You are not who you had to become to survive, you are who God designed before the first word of your story was ever written, so walk in that, own it, and take up the space He always intended for you to fill.

He or she was always there, now go be who God made you to be.

If you’ve never invited Jesus into your heart, today is the day. Pray this:

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for sending Jesus to die on the Cross just for me. I admit that I have sinned, and I repent. I ask You to forgive me. I believe that He died and rose again. Right now, I make Him the Lord of my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. My sins are washed away, my past is forgiven, and my future is bright. Help me to live like the beloved that I already am in Christ. Thank you for saving me.

In Jesus name,

Amen

Make today count and see you tomorrow.
