~He Chose You First

27.April.2026

There’s something comforting about knowing you weren’t an afterthought. You weren’t Plan B, nor a last-minute addition to God’s roster of people He decided to love. Jesus looked at you before you ever looked at Him, and He chose you first.

“You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain.” John 15:16 This isn’t metaphor. This is Jesus laying out the order of things: His choice came before yours. His invitation preceded your response. He saw something in you worth pursuing, worth calling, worth dying for, and He moved first. Not because you deserved it or earned it or somehow qualified through effort and performance, but because His love doesn’t operate on a merit system. It operates on choice…your choice.

Paul echoes this when he writes that God “chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself.” Ephesians 1:4-5 Before you were born, before you made a single choice for good or evil, before you even knew His name, He already chose you. He predestined your adoption into His family. You belong to Him by design, not by accident.

And John reminds us of the simplicity and power of this truth: “This is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” 1 John 4:10 God didn’t wait for you to get your act together. He didn’t require you to prove yourself worthy of His attention. He sent His Son while you were still figuring out who you were, still making mistakes, still far from perfect. His choice was decisive and unconditional.

Think about and meditate on what it means that you didn’t have to convince God to care about you. You didn’t have to earn His attention or negotiate your way into His kingdom. He chose you first, and that choice is unchanging.

If you’ve never invited Jesus into your heart, today is the day. Pray this:

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Jesus to die on the Cross just for me. I admit that I have sinned, and I repent. I ask You to forgive me. I believe that He died and rose again. Right now, I make Him the Lord of my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. My sins are washed away, my past is forgiven, and my future is bright. Help me to live like the beloved that I already am in Christ. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Make today count and see you tomorrow.
