Good morning Father, good morning Jesus, good morning Holy Spirit.
If you can make those seven words the first thing out of your mouth before your feet hit the floor every single morning, you have already positioned everything that follows. You have reminded yourself and declared to Him that He is first, not second, not somewhere on the list, but first. This is not a religious ritual, but a relationship acknowledging itself before the day has a chance to pull you in any other direction.
This is what it means to stay.
John 15:4-5 says abide in Me and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in Me. The word abide does not mean to visit, nor does it mean check in when things get hard. It means to remain, to stay connected. Make His presence the environment you live in rather than the destination you occasionally travel to.
Psalm 27:4 says one thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek, that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in His temple. One thing. Not a list, not a program, not a performance. One thing. To be with Him, to behold Him, to inquire of Him daily.
And that inquiry can be simpler than you think. In your quiet time meditate on a verse that is meaningful to you right now, in this season, and speak it out loud. Or ask Him what He wants to say to you today, for something specific for your life in your current season. And remain to hear the answer.
Here is what I mean by that. Give Him first place in the small things too. What route should I take today Lord? Which direction do you want me to go? It may sound simple, even silly, but there are people who have been protected and people who have been positioned for divine appointments simply because they paused long enough to ask. The details matter to Him because you matter to Him.
Isaiah 26:3 says You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. The mind that is stayed, fixed, anchored, remaining, that is the mind that walks in perfect peace. Not the mind that visits Him occasionally and hopes for the best.
As we close this series I want to leave you with this. None of what we have talked about this week is complicated, it is simply surrender, showing up, learning to listen, talking with Him honestly, trusting His heart through the process, saying the deeper yes, and then staying. Knowing Him is not a destination you arrive at, it is something you choose, and every single day you choose it, He meets you there.
If you do not yet know Him personally, or if you have wandered and are ready to come back, say this out loud right now:
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Jesus to die on the cross just for me. I admit that I have sinned, and I repent. I ask You to forgive me. I believe that He died and rose again. Right now, I make Him the Lord of my life. My sins are washed away, my past is forgiven, and my future is bright. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Welcome home. You are now part of the family of God.
