~Faith that Follows~

11.November.2025

Obedience matters. Every choice we make carries weight, shaping the life we live and the legacy we leave. Today we will see how faith and trust in God made all the difference for someone who chose to follow Him fully.

Sometimes faith is not loud or dramatic.

Sometimes it looks like dropping what is in your hands and taking the next step.

That is exactly what happened the day Jesus walked along the shore and saw two brothers mending their nets.

Matthew tells us, “Then Jesus said to them, Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men. They immediately left their nets and followed Him” (Matthew 4:19-20).

No questions.

No reasoning.

No long explanations.

Just obedience.

They left their nets.

The nets represented their livelihood, their stability, and everything familiar.

But one invitation from Jesus was worth more than all of it.

Later Jesus called James and John. “And immediately they left the boat and their father and followed Him” (Matthew 4:22).

Their faith did not wait to understand.

Their faith moved when Jesus called.

Faith follows first, understanding comes later.

These men saw miracles, but they also saw storms.

They watched Jesus open blind eyes and raise the dead, yet they also faced moments of fear and doubt.

They were not perfect, but they stayed close.

When others left Jesus, Simon Peter said, “Lord, to whom shall we go You have the words of eternal life” (John 6:68).

Following Jesus will always cost us something,

but it will never cost us more than keeping our nets would have.

When Jesus sent them out later, He gave them power and authority.

Mark writes, “And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them” (Mark 16:20).

They learned that faith is not just believing, faith is moving when He speaks.

There is something beautiful about this kind of faith.

Jesus never told them where the path would lead,

He just promised that He would be with them.

And that was enough.

Let your heart whisper what the disciples said with their feet,

Yes Jesus, I will follow You.

Faithful obedience leaves a lasting legacy. The choices we make today echo into tomorrow, shaping who we are and how God’s story is told through us. Tomorrow we will meet another faith giant whose trust in God changed everything.

If you’ve never surrendered to Jesus or have strayed, it’s not too late. He’s waiting to restore and renew you. Return to Him today and say this out loud:

~ Dear Heavenly Father ~

Thank You for sending Jesus to die on the Cross just for me. I admit that I have sinned, and I repent. I ask You to forgive me. I believe that He died and rose again. Right now, I make Him the Lord of my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. My sins are washed away, my past is forgiven, and my future is bright. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ Name Amen.

Make today count and see you tomorrow.
