~Not Borrowed~

26.October.2026

We have been saying that the Name, the authority, and His presence go together. What happens when someone uses the Name without the rest?

Acts 19 explains this to us. In Ephesus, some traveling exorcists saw what was happening through Paul and decided to try the same words on a man with an evil spirit. Also there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did so. And the evil spirit answered and said, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?”

Then the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, overpowered them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.
Acts‬ ‭19‬:‭14‬-‭16 NKJV‬‬

They had the right words. What they did not have was a personal relationship of their own. They were using the Name of Jesus through Paul, a Name they knew only because of what Paul preached. The spirit knew Jesus, and it knew Paul, however, did not know them.

That is why the Name is not a formula. It does not work because someone says it correctly. It works because of who it belongs to and who is sending the one who speaks.

One of my pastors said it is one thing if the demons know who you are, and even more important that the Kingdom knows you. Jesus said nearly the same to the seventy when they came back thrilled.

And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
Luke 10:17

They had real results through the Name, and Jesus did not wave them away. But He pointed them to where their joy belonged.

Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭10‬:‭20‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The Name is what we go in. Being known is why it carries weight.

Let’s challenge ourselves to consider the following question. When I use His Name, am I speaking as someone He knows, or only as someone who has heard about Him?

Make today count and see you tomorrow.
