~Position, Not Performance~

30.July.2026

For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ. ‭‭Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Notice that word, gift. Not something you earn. Not something you maintain through perfect behavior, but a gift received.

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Here is what most believers don’t understand about what this means. When Jesus came to earth, He removed deity from Himself, although He could have called upon it at any time. He chose not to. He came as a baby. He grew up the way we did. He experienced life the way we did. He made choices every single day about Who to serve, what to say, and what to do.

His choice was singular: to do His Father’s will only. To say what His Father said only. That is a very distinct choice, and He made that choice not as God, but as a man fully submitted to God.

The only way He could take on all the sins of the world was to live a sinless life. Not bypassing the human experience, but living it fully, making choices every single day, and every single time choosing righteousness. When He came to the whipping post, when the scourging tore into His flesh, when the brutal beating began, every single sin that ever was or ever will be was being placed on His body. All of it.

If you have never watched The Passion of the Christ, I highly recommend it. Watch it. Let it remind you how very much He loves you and how committed He is to you. Because right-standing, true righteousness, cost Him everything, and He gave of Himself willingly, by His own choice.

And now it is your turn.

You have a choice to make. Just like He did. Not as God, but as a believer fully submitted to God. Become single-eyed  (Matthew 6:23 KJV). Become focused on what He wants you to do. Align your life with the Bible and nothing else. Not with what feels good. Not with what the world says. Not with what your flesh wants. Align your life with His Word.

Therefore I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live. ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭30‬:‭15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The gift of righteousness has been given to you. You are not earning it through behavior. You are not maintaining it through performance. You already have it because He gave it to you. Your job is not to prove yourself righteous. Your job is to choose, every single day, to align yourself with what you have already been given.

Choose life. Choose alignment with His Word. Choose to be single-eyed focused on His will. That is right-standing. That is what He died to give you.

If you have never given your life to Jesus Christ, you can do that right now. Pray this with me:

Dear Heavenly Father,
I confess that I have sinned, and I believe Jesus died for my sins and rose again on the third day. I ask Jesus, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

Make today count and see you tomorrow.
