~Run Hard~

14.July.2026

“Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.” ‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭9‬:‭24‬ Paul is not describing a leisurely jog here, he is describing an all-out race, the kind where you run like there is only one prize and it could still be yours if you run right. And that is exactly the posture this whole week has been building toward, boldness, power flowing, urgency, choosing to answer when no one else will, all of it was never meant to end in a nice sentiment, it was meant to produce a runner.

“And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown.”  I Corinthians‬ ‭9‬:‭25‬ Notice the comparison Paul makes without any hesitation, athletes will discipline their whole lives, their diet, their sleep, their training, for a crown that will not even last, a wreath that withers within days of being won. If that kind of discipline makes sense for something temporary, how much more does it make sense for us, running toward a crown that never fades at all.

“Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air.” ‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭9‬:‭26‬ ‭ This is the difference between running hard and running scattered. Uncertain running wastes energy without ever closing distance, and beating the air looks like effort but produces nothing, and so much of what passes for spiritual busyness is exactly that, motion without direction, energy spent shadowboxing instead of actually running toward something real.

“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,”Hebrews‬ ‭12‬:‭1‬ Every weight does not have to be sin to slow you down. Some things are not wrong, they are simply heavy, and a runner does not carry anything he does not have to, because he understands that the race itself demands everything he has left over.

“I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians‬ ‭3‬:‭14‬ Paul was not coasting on past victories when he wrote this, he was still pressing, still running, still reaching forward, because the race is not finished until it is finished, and there is no finish line early enough to justify slowing down now.

Run hard. Lay the weight down. Keep your eyes on the prize that does not fade.

If you have never given your life to Jesus Christ, you can do that right now. Pray this with me:

Dear Heavenly Father, I confess that I have sinned, and I believe Jesus died for my sins and rose again on the third day. I ask Jesus, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

Make today count and see you tomorrow.
