~Trust the Process~

12.April.2026

Trusting God with the process of your life is one of the most courageous acts of faith you will ever choose. I use the word choose very intentionally.

Years ago I sat before God and said something I am not proud of. I told Him I could not deny that He was the Creator of the universe or that He was Lord, but because I did not feel loved by Him, directed, or protected by Him, I was going my own way. And I did. What followed were years of a life spiraling in ways I could have never projected, consequences I did not see coming, and a road that got darker the furthernI walked it. I am telling you this not to air my history but to point at that road and say with everything in me, do not go that way. What I should have done was draw near to Him. What I did instead, cost me deeply.

He is not a puppet master. When Jesus went to the cross He gave authority to us, and with that authority comes responsibility. Deuteronomy 30:19 makes it plain, I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing, therefore choose life. He lays it out and then He steps back and lets you choose. He will not override your will. He loves you too much to do that.

And yes, there are seasons that feel dark, seasons where it feels like He is silent or distant or simply not there. Those feelings are real and He is not offended by them. But feelings are not facts and His faithfulness is not contingent on whether we can feel it. Romans 8:28 does not say some things work together for good. It says all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose. All of it. Even the detours.

But here is what redeeming a detour actually requires. It is not simply saying I am sorry, because sorry really just means oops, I got caught. True repentance is the Greek word metanoia, a complete change of mind and direction. It means humbling yourself, acknowledging the disobedience, and actively listening for His voice to tell you what to do differently. It is not a feeling. It is a turning.

When you turn, He is already there. Proverbs 3:5-6 says to trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths. Isaiah 40:31 promises that those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength. And Philippians 1:6 reminds us that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it. He does not start things He does not intend to finish.

He can weave even your worst choices into something beautiful. Joel 2:25 says He will restore the years the locusts have eaten. That is not a small promise. That is the heart of a God who loves you enough to redeem what you thought was irredeemable.

Trust His heart. If you have never heard Babbie Mason’s Trust His Heart, you may want to listen to it today and let it settle something deep in you. He knows what He is doing, even when you cannot see it.
