~Nothing Accidental~

02.April.2026

The devil had already made his move. Judas had already taken the money. And Jesus knew it.

Have you ever watched someone prepare for something they knew was going to be hard? There is a kind of intentionality in the way that they move. That is exactly what we see Jesus doing on this Thursday of Passion Week. Nothing about that evening was left to chance.

Jesus sent two disciples ahead with specific instructions, find a man carrying a jar of water, follow him, and tell the owner of the house that the Teacher needs a room. Luke 22:8-13. In a city packed with Passover travelers, that is not a coincidence. That is a sovereign God arranging details before anyone else knew they needed arranging.

He knew what the night would cost Him, but He went anyway.

By the time they settled in around the table, the room looked nothing like what we picture today. There were no chairs. Passover was celebrated reclining on cushions, leaning on one another around a low table, close and unhurried. And in that intimate setting, Jesus already knew Judas would betray Him, Peter would deny Him, and the rest would scatter. John 13:1 says He loved them to the end. That phrase in the original language means completely, fully, to the uttermost. He washed their feet anyway. He broke bread with them anyway. He poured the cup anyway.

The Passover meal was ancient and scripted, every element pointing back to the night God delivered His people from Egypt. But that night Jesus picked up the bread and said something different,“This is My body which is given for you.” Luke 22:19. He picked up the cup and said “This cup is the new covenant in My blood.” Luke 22:20. He wasn’t borrowing the Passover. He was fulfilling it. He was the lamb the whole thing had always been pointing to.

There was nothing accidental and nothing was rushed. There was not anything done in a panic.

Just a Son, fully surrendered to His Father’s plan, loving the people in front of Him with everything He had before the night turned dark.

It’s very important to me at this moment to share the opportunity if you have not already done so to make Jesus the Lord of your life. If you have, but you’ve stepped away during your own thing, simply repent and come back to him. He’s been patiently waiting for you and He loves you so very much.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for sending Jesus to die on the cross, just for me. I admit that I have sinned, and I repent. I ask You to forgive me. I believe that He died and rose again. Right now, I make Him the Lord of my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. My sins are washed away, my past is forgiven, and my future is bright. Thank You for saving me.

In Jesus’ Name,

Amen.

If you just prayed that, welcome home.

Make today count and see you tomorrow.
