01.April.2026
Most people think of April 1st as the day of pranks and foolishness. But in the sequence of Passion Week, the real fool’s errand was already in motion, and it wasn’t God who was caught off guard.
While Jesus rested in Bethany, something dark was happening across the city. Matthew 26:14-16 tells us that Judas, one of the twelve, went to the chief priests. He did not stumble, nor was he dragged. He went. He walked there and he knocked. He asked what they would give him to hand Jesus over. Thirty pieces of silver was what they offered him . And from that moment, he looked for an opportunity.
That was the devil’s move.
John 13:2 tells us the devil had already put it in Judas’ heart to betray Him. This wasn’t impulsive. It was a plan, a scheme, carefully placed, quietly accepted, and set into motion while the Son of God rested.
And here is what bothers me about this. Jesus knew. Not because He had every detail of the Father’s plan mapped out, but because He knew the Father. The same way Abraham walked up a mountain with his son and a knife, trusting without seeing, Jesus moved through that week with complete confidence in the One who sent Him.
The enemy thought he was making a power move. He was actually walking straight into his own defeat.
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. John 10:10. That has always been his nature. It was true then, and it is true now. The scheme looks different but the source is the same.
What the devil meant as a move, God already had covered.
Make today count and see you tomorrow.
