You cannot hide anything from Him, and trying to could cost you everything.
We have talked all week about knowing Him. But there is a side of this conversation that requires honesty. You cannot truly know someone you are hiding from. And hiding things from God is not only impossible, it is dangerous.
Achan learned this in Joshua 7. God had given clear instructions. Nothing from the spoils of war was to be kept. Achan saw something he wanted, took it, and buried it under his tent. He thought it was hidden, but it was not. His secret brought consequences not just on himself but on everyone around him. What was under the tent eventually came out, it always does.
Then in Acts 5, Ananias and Sapphira sold property and kept back part of the proceeds while telling the apostles they had given everything. This is not an Old Testament story. This is the New Testament church, post resurrection, post Pentecost, moving in the power of the Holy Spirit. In that environment, with that level of presence and accountability, partial obedience trying to look like full surrender was met with swift and sobering consequence.
Now here is what I want you to hear. God is a God of second chances. I have experienced His grace in moments where I would not have extended that same grace to myself. His mercies truly are new every morning. He always gives the chance to come clean, to respond, to turn. He always reveals, always nudges, always convicts before judgment arrives. The door is open.
But there is a hardness of heart that can develop in a person who repeatedly ignores that nudge. Who sees the open door and walks past it. Who feels the conviction and buries it a little deeper…under the tent. That hardness is not something God forces on anyone. It is a choice made one small compromise at a time.
I have heard it said some people pray that every evil, wicked or hidden agenda will be exposed, revealed, and removed. That is not a threatening prayer but an authoritative one. It is inviting the light in before the darkness does any more damage.
Luke 8:17, “For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light.” Everything surfaces eventually. This is not a warning to dread, it is an invitation to run toward. Run to Him. Come clean today, not tomorrow, not when you feel ready. Now. He sees everything, He knows everything, and He is not waiting for you to have it together. He is waiting for you to come.
Grace is available right now…until it isn’t. God is the God of second chances…until He isn’t. Please don’t delay.
For further study: 1 Samuel 13, Exodus 7-11, and Hebrews 6:4-6.
If this stirs something in your heart and you’ve never said yes to Jesus, or maybe you have, but you know it’s time to come home, can I pray with you right now? Just say, “Jesus, I need You. I believe You died for me and rose again. Come into my life, forgive me, lead me. I’m Yours.” That’s it. Everything heaven has been waiting to deliver is already yours the moment you ask.
Welcome! You are now a part of the family of God!
Make today count and see you tomorrow.
