Most of life is lived in the ordinary.
Not in unbelievable moments or flashy turning points, but in the simple accumulation of daily choices. The words we speak. The thoughts we entertain. The posture of our hearts when no one knows.
The Word says, “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” Galatians 6:9, NKJV
Sometimes we grow weary not because God isn’t working, but because we are watching too closely, measuring too often, or trying to force growth before its time. There’s an old saying that a watched pot never boils, and in many ways, intimacy with God works the same way.
When we fixate on results, or try to replicate someone else’s process, “they did it this way, so this must be the formula,” we can unintentionally shift from relationship into performance. But intimacy isn’t produced by pressure, and transformation isn’t manufactured by comparison.
God does not mass-produce relationships. He cultivates them personally.
Our role is not to force the timing or to copy the method, but to stay faithful in the daily posture of trust and obedience. Growth happens naturally when our focus stays on Him, not on the outcome.
Spiritual growth rarely happens all at once. It is formed through consistency, through choosing obedience again and again, even when it feels unnoticed or slow.
It can be tempting to grow weary when progress isn’t obvious. When answers haven’t come. When the harvest feels delayed. But God works in seasons, and due season always arrives at the right time, not a moment too early, not a moment too late.
Every faithful choice matters. Every act of trust builds something eternal. What feels small today may be shaping something far greater than you realize.
So if today feels repetitive or unremarkable, don’t lose heart. Stay aligned. Keep walking. God sees the whole picture.
Before I close today, I’d like to share a song that has carried me through some difficult seasons. I am so grateful for the way Steven Curtis Chapman has ministered hope to so many lives over the years.
This one is a little more upbeat than something you might quietly meditate to, but sometimes we need a reminder set to rhythm. Sometimes we need truth that lifts our heads.
With that said, here’s Don’t Lose Heart.

Keep your eyes on Him; what He is preparing will be revealed in time.
