~A Life Fully Yielded~

04.February.2026

“The Christian life is not a constant struggle to be good, but a moment by moment surrender to God.” Billy Graham

There is a shift that happens when surrender moves from something we do occasionally to something we live daily. It no longer feels dramatic or forceful. It becomes settled, yielded and steady.

Paul writes, “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Galatians 2:20, NKJV

This is not poetic language meant to inspire emotion. It is spiritual reality meant to bring a stability to your life.

Surrender does not improve the old life, it replaces it. The life we now live is no longer sourced in ourselves, but in Jesus, who lives in us.

That truth changes how we approach everything, decisions, reactions, endurance, even rest. When Christ is the source, we are no longer striving to manufacture holiness or peace. We are learning to yield to what already resides within us. The pressure lifts because the responsibility shifts. What once depended on willpower now flows from relationship.

Jesus said, “Abide in Me, and I in you… for without Me you can do nothing.” John 15:4–5, NKJV Abiding is not passivity, but active dependence. It is choosing, again and again, to remain connected to the Vine rather than reverting to self-sufficiency.

This is where many believers grow weary. Not because God asks too much, but because they unknowingly carry what was never meant to be carried by them. A yielded life learns to pause, to listen, and to respond rather than react. It recognizes that walking in the Spirit is not about perfection, but about posture.

The world applauds independence. Scripture invites dependence. And in that dependence, something unexpected happens, strength replaces strain. Peace replaces pressure. Clarity replaces confusion. Not because circumstances change, but because the source has.

Yielding does not make us weaker. It makes us correctly aligned. When Jesus lives through us, His nature begins to surface in the ordinary spaces of life. We function in patience where there was irritation, mercy where there was judgment, steadiness where there was fear. This is not behavior modification. It is life expression.

Today, ask yourself a simple but searching question: What am I still trying to carry in my own strength?

Then, without ceremony or self-criticism, yield it. Again. Surrender is not a one-time moment. It is a daily returning.

And if you want a song to lead into your time with Him, let “End of the Beginning” by David Phelps play in a way that reminds your heart how big of a God we love. It reminds us that what we lay down is never truly lost, and what God gives in its place is always greater.

Tomorrow, we’ll begin turning our attention to the treasure within, the fullness Jesus has already deposited in us, is waiting to be discovered and lived from.
