~When God Seems Quiet~

03.January 2026

If I am being perfectly honest, there are moments when I feel vulnerable, alone, and unsure if God is even with me.

Not because I don’t love Him.

Not because I don’t believe.

But because there are seasons when He seems quiet.

And yet, when I look into Scripture, I find that I am not alone in that experience.

There were many who loved God deeply and still walked through long stretches where His voice seemed silent.

Abraham waited approximately 25 years between the promise of a son and the birth of Isaac.

Joseph endured about 13 years between the dreams God gave him and the fulfillment of those dreams.

David was anointed king and then spent nearly 15 years running, hiding, and waiting before he ever sat on the throne.

And yet… they still trusted Him.

They still listened for Him.

They still looked for Him.

They still believed they would hear His voice again.

This is not a time to shrink back.

This is a time to press in.

Because His Word is His voice.

“Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.” Psalms‬ ‭119‬:‭105‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Sometimes the silence is not absence.

Sometimes it is an invitation.

And sometimes, there may be something the Holy Spirit has already asked us to do that we haven’t yet done. He will never move us past our last act of obedience. That is not condemnation, it is compassion. It is His loving way of saying, “Come back to where we last spoke, I am still waiting for you there.”

And even beyond that, we must remember, He is the One who gives us vision, purpose, and calling…

“He has made everything beautiful in its time.” Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3‬:‭11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭1‬:‭4‬ ‭NLT‬

Which is why, all around the world at this time of year, many believers begin a 21-day fast.

Not to move God.

But to know God.

Not to seek His hand.

But to seek His heart.

It is an offering of first fruits, the first portion of our year given back to Him in love. It is the laying down of our fork so we can pick up His presence. It is an opportunity to enter in to our secret place where intimacy with Him is found, or restored and clarity is born.

We cannot do life, especially in the days we are living in, without Him.

Tomorrow, we will begin talking about what fasting truly is, who it is for, and how it becomes one of the most beautiful ways we draw near again.

If your heart feels a little dry, a little tired, or a little distant… you are not forgotten. You are being invited.

Come closer.

If this stirs something in your heart and you’ve never said yes to Jesus, or maybe you have, but you know it’s time to come home, can I pray with you right now? Just whisper, “Jesus, I need You. I believe You died for me and rose again. Come into my life, forgive me, lead me. I’m Yours.” That’s it. Everything heaven has been waiting to deliver is already yours the moment you ask.

Welcome! You are now a part of the family of God!

Make today count and see you tomorrow.
