There is a beautiful place in the life of a believer where your past no longer dictates your present, where memories, old lies, and long-held fears have been met with the Truth, surrendered, and replaced by the promises of God. This is the place of living from victory, not memory.
Paul reminds us, Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage Galatians 5:1. Freedom is not a distant hope but is a daily choice. Every thought we capture, every lie we replace, and every moment we guard will position us to walk in the reality that God has already purchased for us.
As we grow, we must become especially mindful of the offenders that try to slip back in like disappointment, resentment, and bitterness that may seem small at first, but they take root quickly. They settle into our heart, spread into the mind, and eventually show up in the body. They distort our perspective, drain our spiritual strength, and cloud the peace God intends for us. A renewed mind learns to identify these intruders early, so we can remove them before they grow.
When your mind is stayed on Him, “You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You” Isaiah 26:3. Peace is not passive. Peace is a declaration: I refuse to return to old patterns. I refuse to agree with fear. I choose truth. I choose life. I choose Him. And the beauty is that God’s Spirit empowers us to keep walking forward, moment by moment.
Living from victory is inviting God into every corner of your thought life. It is recognizing the lies before they steal your peace. It is responding to triggers with truth. It is celebrating each small win, each step of renewed thinking, knowing the battle is already won in Christ.
Take a moment today to breathe deeply and say to yourself, I will not live by the stories of my past. I will live by the truth of God. Let this settle into your soul. Let it anchor your days. Let it remind you that transformation is not just possible, it is already underway.
Tomorrow we enter a season of reflection and wonder, preparing our hearts for the beauty and hope of this holy month. The work of renewing our mind continues, but now we begin to lift our eyes beyond ourselves and notice the wonder God is bringing into our lives.
Let’s finish this time with an upbeat song to draw our eyes to Him.

If you’ve never surrendered to Jesus or have strayed, it’s not too late. He’s waiting to restore and renew you. Return to Him today and say this out loud:
Dear Heavenly Father ~ Thank You for sending Jesus to die on the Cross just for me. I admit that I have sinned, and I repent. I ask You to forgive me. I believe that He died and rose again. Right now, I make Him the Lord of my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. My sins are washed away, my past is forgiven, and my future is bright. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ Name Amen.
