Here we are in the final month of the year, a month that whispers of fresh pages even as the calendar runs out. December always arrives carrying possibility, offering us the chance to finish with intention and faith. And something in my spirit keeps saying, “Let this be the best month of the year, a month marked by choosing well, choosing intentionally, choosing to walk daily with Him.”
There is something tender about allowing the Lord to settle your heart before the year closes. It is a holy exhale, a moment when you realize He has carried you through valleys and victories, through detours and deliverance, through things you prayed for and things you never knew to ask. And now, He invites you to finish the year not striving, not scrambling, but walking with Him, listening for His voice, letting Him order your steps and steady your spirit.
As you turn your attention toward what remains of this beautiful month, remember the invitation He gives you to pause, to write, to listen. “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it” (Habakkuk 2:2).There is power in putting on paper the things God speaks to your heart. Clarity comes. Focus returns. Peace settles. And… direction rises like dawn.
Here are a few things you may want to write down as you finish the year with Him:
• God will never move you past your last act of disobedience. “Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice” (1 Samuel 15:22). If His voice seems faint, ask Him if there is something He asked of you, maybe something small, that you set aside or ignored for any reason. He will show you, He loves you!
• What God has asked you to complete before the month ends
• What He is leading you to release and leave in 2025
• What dreams He may be awakening for 2026, even if they seem small right now
So as you choose life, choose hope, choose obedience, and choose Him this December, consider writing down what He is nudging you to finish, release, or begin. Let these final days become a declaration of faith and a preparation for what is ahead.
This is the gift of December. “I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing, therefore choose life.(Deuteronomy 30:19).
