Here we are in the final month of the year, a month that whispers of a fresh page even as the calendar runs out. December always arrives carrying possibility, offering us the chance to finish with intention and faith. And something in my spirit keeps saying, “Let this be the best month of the year, a month marked by choosing well, choosing intentionally, choosing to walk daily with Him.”
Just this past Sunday, all at once, four responsibilities landed in my lap. Each one demanding, each urgent, each one loud in its own way. And the quickest solution seemed obvious, step back from attending church and clear some time. But as that thought flashed through my mind, I sensed the Holy Spirit grieve over that possibility. Grieve not the Holy Spirit of God (Ephesians 4:30). It was as if the Father gently whispered, “Do not choose fear. Do not choose hurry. Choose Me.”
Something rose inside me, firm yet peaceful, and I said, “I choose not to fear. I choose to believe I can do all I must do with ease, peace, and joy.”
With that, I walked into worship joyfully and remained. And as only He can, God multiplied my time, my clarity, and my strength. Every responsibility was completed with grace, not strain, because I chose Him first.
And this is December’s invitation — not to rush, not to scramble, but to put Him first and watch everything else fall miraculously into place.
This is the gift of December. “I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing, therefore choose life” (Deuteronomy 30:19).
