~A Midnight Knock and a Package Meant for You~

01.December.2025

As we step into December, with Christmas lights twinkling and Hanukkah candles soon to glow, can I invite us, those of us who love Jesus, to stretch our faith farther than we ever have before? Let’s dare to see God for exactly who He is: the incomparably good Father who is wildly in love with us and desperately wants us to walk in everything He’s already given us.

Y’all might think I’ve lost it, but I had already drifted off to sleep (for about an hour, mind you) when I was jolted awake by a dream, heart pounding like crazy.

In the dream it was the middle of the night, and someone was knocking at my door. I opened it to find a FedEx driver holding an envelope. Somehow I knew instantly: this was the title to my truck, paid in full, mine. Standing right beside him were two scruffy, bearded, long-haired guys who looked like they’d just stepped off a 1970’s album cover. The driver said, “Ma’am, I don’t normally deliver this late, but here’s your package.”

He started to hand it to me, but before I could take it, one of the hippie guys snatched it right out of his hands, waved it in the air, and said with a smirk, “You mean this package?” The two of them cracked up laughing, bolted across a busy street in the dark, and vanished into a building on the other side.

I was furious. I reached for my phone to call 911, but deep in my spirit I heard the gentlest yet clearest voice say, Are you really going to let them steal My gift?

What do You mean, Lord? I thought. Then I said, of course, I’m calling the police! And He said, Because that package is from Me, daughter. And you think the police are your answer. Don’t you know I’ve already given you all authority? Use My Name.

That’s when my eyes flew open. I lay there in the dark, heart still racing, and suddenly I knew, this dream wasn’t random. It was a living parable for every single one of us who’s ever watched a promise of God get snatched away by circumstances, by fear, by the enemy’s lies… and reached for every solution except the authority Jesus has already placed in our hands.

Remember the night on the Sea of Galilee when the disciples were sure they were going to drown? Jesus stood up and quieted the storm, then looked at them with love and asked, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” (Mark 4:40). He wasn’t mad that they felt the wind, He was grieved that the wind had become louder to them than His presence in the boat.

Then there was Peter. Sweet, impulsive, mouthy Peter, the only one bold enough to say, “Lord, if that’s really You, tell me to come to You on the water.” And Jesus simply said, “Come.” For a few glorious seconds, Peter did the impossible: he walked on the very thing that should have swallowed him. But the moment he turned his gaze from Jesus to the raging waves, fear rushed in and down he went. Yet even then, especially then, Jesus reached out, caught him, and pulled him close.

That’s our God. That’s the heart of faith: keeping our eyes locked on the One who’s already paid for the package, already signed our name on the title, already spoken “It is finished.”

So here’s my question, friend: What “package” has the enemy tried to snatch from you lately, your health, your family, your peace, your calling, your promise? Will we keep dialing every earthly 911 we can think of… or will we finally stand up in the authority Jesus purchased with His own blood and say, “No. Not today. I take it back in the Name above every name”?

Because that promise still has your name on it, and Jesus isn’t just with you in the boat, beloved; He lives in you. You and He are one. “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me” (Galatians 2:20). So when you fix your eyes on Him, you’re not looking across the waves to Someone far off, you’re turning to the One who has already made His home inside your very heart, the One who has forever joined His life to yours. The same power that silenced the storm and walked on water is alive in you right now. Look to Him, lean into that unbreakable oneness, and watch the waves lose their voice.

Song for the journey: “In Jesus’ Name” – Darlene Zschech (the live version from 2015 will wreck you in the best way)

If this stirs something in your heart and you’ve never said yes to Jesus, or maybe you have, but you know it’s time to come home, can I pray with you right now? Just whisper, “Jesus, I need You. I believe You died for me and rose again. Come into my life, forgive me, lead me. I’m Yours.” That’s it. Everything heaven has been waiting to deliver is already yours the moment you ask.

Welcome to the family, beloved. The package is signed, sealed, and on its way.

Here is a link to a minister and a ministry I deeply trust. If you make this decision for Christ, they will gladly send you a discipleship packet and help you take your first steps in building a healthy, steady walk with God. They will not badger you or chase you down. They are simply there to support you, encourage you, and guide you. He is a trusted friend, a solid teacher, and someone who can help lay the foundation of truth under your feet as you begin this new journey.
