There’s a truth that rises in my spirit as I step into this next part of the journey:
“The man don’t make the vision; the vision makes the man.” ~David Yonggi Cho~
God-given vision has a way of shaping us from the inside out. We don’t force it, craft it, or carefully manufacture it. We simply receive it, write it down, and walk it out, and in the walking, God forms us.
This has always been God’s way. Before He moves a person into purpose, He speaks something into their spirit. He gives light before He gives movement. He whispers direction long before we take the first step.
“Write the vision, and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it.” (Habakkuk 2:2)
Vision is not meant to be vague. It is meant to be written, carried, remembered, and run with.
Throughout Scripture, God shapes His people through what He reveals:
“Where there is no vision, the people perish…” (Proverbs 29:18)
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you…” (Jeremiah 1:5)
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.” (Psalm 32:8)
Vision is God saying, “Walk with Me until you see what I see.”
And the voices of revivalists and faith generals echo the same truth:
Smith Wigglesworth, an evangelist known for bold faith and miracles once said:
“Great faith is the product of great fights. Great testimonies are the outcome of great tests. Great visions are the results of great trials.”
Charles Finney, who was a leader of the Second Great Awakening, taught:
“Revival is nothing else than a new beginning of obedience to God.”
P. C. Nelson, one of the greatest theologians of the early church and a major influence on F. F. Bosworth and F. F. Dake, said:
“God never calls without giving direction, and He never gives direction without giving power to carry it out.”
F. F. Bosworth, who influenced generations including Wigglesworth, said:
“Faith begins where the will of God is known.”
All of these voices share one heartbeat:
Vision is not built by us, it is revealed by Him, and it forms everything about us when we say yes.
And this is where vision becomes personal for every single one of us. God does not give us glimpses of His heart so we can admire them from a distance. He gives vision because He intends to walk it out with us. He forms us as we follow. He strengthens us as we say yes. It reminds me of the old hymn that whispers, “Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus.” Simple words, but they capture the heart of what vision really is, trusting the One who called us long before we understood the call. There is more He wants to uncover, more He wants to shape, more He wants to awaken. And tomorrow we will step a little deeper into that, into the place where vision meets obedience, and where the next part of this journey begins to take form.
