There is a question I want to ask gently, but clearly in front of you, because it matters more than anything else you will ever decide. At the end of every post, I invite anyone reading to surrender to Jesus or to return to Him if their heart has wandered. And honestly, that moment carries eternal weight. (Meaning..Forever)
Here is what I always include:
“If you’ve never surrendered to Jesus or have strayed, it is not too late. He is waiting to restore and renew you. Return to Him today and say this out loud:
~ Dear Heavenly Father ~
Thank You for sending Jesus to die on the Cross just for me. I admit that I have sinned, and I repent. I ask You to forgive me. I believe that He died and rose again. Right now, I make Him the Lord of my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. My sins are washed away, my past is forgiven, and my future is bright. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus Name Amen.“
So here is the question that matters right now. Have you done it?
If you can honestly say yes, then that is wonderful. Truly.
But if you have never made a public confession of your faith, I challenge you to take that step. Scripture speaks plainly about this. Jesus said “But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 10:33). Luke says the same truth, “I tell you the truth, everyone who acknowledges Me publicly here on earth, the Son of Man will also acknowledge in the presence of God’s angels” (Luke 12:8-9).
There is something holy about openly declaring who Jesus is to you. It marks you. It seals something. It aligns your heart with your confession.
If you are thinking to yourself, I gave my heart to Jesus as a child, or I prayed a prayer years ago, allow me to lean in here. Scripture calls us to a public profession, not because God needs proof, but because your soul needs that moment of clarity.
Look at the thief on the cross. In his final moments he turned to Jesus and said,“Lord, remember me when You come into Your Kingdom” (Luke 23:42). That was public. That was open. That was unmistakably a confession of faith. And Jesus responded with life changing certainty, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise” (Luke 23:43). There was no question. No hesitation.
Let me share a little of my own story here. I first prayed to receive Jesus in the fourth grade, but I had no understanding of what I was doing. I have watched children younger than I was surrender their hearts with sincerity and walk with Jesus from that moment on, but that was not my story. Mine was an outward moment done to please someone, and there was no inner transformation. And as much as I said I believed in Jesus, it was not enough. The Bible reminds us,“even the demons believe, and tremble” (James 2:19). Belief alone is not salvation. Surrender is.
Some faith denominations emphasize knowing the exact date of your salvation. I do not believe in turning that into a rigid ritual, but I do believe there is power in being able to say with confidence, “This is the day I surrendered my life to Jesus.” In that moment your date becomes a weapon. Yes, a weapon.
Even though Scripture does not specifically tell us to remember the exact date, there is also nothing in the Bible that contradicts the value of remembering the moment God rescued your heart. All throughout the Word, God calls His people to remember His works, His voice, and His deliverance. That kind of remembering strengthens you. It settles your heart when the enemy attempts to bring doubt, fear or unbelief. It becomes one more way you anchor your story in His faithfulness.
Because the enemy loves to whisper:
Are you sure?
Did you really mean it?
Did God actually receive you?
And when you can look back with confidence and say, “Yes, I did. On June 9, 2004, I confessed Jesus with my mouth, believed in my heart, and made Him Lord of my life,” the argument ends right there. I reminds you and your enemy of not only your commitment but your covenant and It settles your mind. It strengthens your faith. It silences the accuser.
So let me ask you again, softly but seriously. Have you done it?
If not, today is a beautiful day to begin. Heaven is listening. Jesus is ready. Eternity is shaped by this one, simple, powerful choice.

Beginning today, I am also including a link to an evangelist’s ministry I deeply trust. If you make this decision for Jesus, they will gladly send you a discipleship packet and help you take your first steps in building a healthy, steady walk with God. They will not badger you or chase you down. They are simply there to support you, encourage you, and guide you. He is a trusted friend, a solid teacher, and someone who can help lay the foundation of Truth under your feet as you begin this new journey.
As always, make today count and see you tomorrow.
