Obedience matters. Every choice we make carries weight, shaping the life we live and the legacy we leave. Today we will see how faith and trust in God made all the difference for someone who chose to follow Him fully.
Sometimes obedience looks like endurance.
God calls us to stand when we would rather run, to speak when silence would be easier, to keep going even when we feel alone. We all have had opportunities with each one of those and I’m no different!
In Revelation, God appoints two witnesses to stand in a hostile world and speak Truth boldly. Scripture says:
“And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days {almost three and a half years!}, clothed in sackcloth.” (Revelation 11:3)
They stand in obedience and declare the word of God publicly, even while the world rejects them. They do not bend under pressure. They do not change their message to please the crowd. They simply do what God told them to do.
The world hates them for it, yet they remain.
They are protected by God until their assignment is complete.
Scripture says:
“When they finish their testimony….” (Revelation 11:7)
Not when the world is tired of them.
Not when opposition rises.
Not when it becomes difficult.
Only when their assignment is finished.
Then, and only then, are they killed. Their bodies lie in the street, and the world celebrates as if their death were a victory. But God writes the final word over their story. Sound familiar?
“Now after the three and a half days the breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet.” (Revelation 11:11)
God raises them up.
People may resist you.
Darkness may oppose you.
But no one can cancel what God has called you to complete.
The purpose of God’s plan on your life is safe in His hands.
Faith stays until the assignment is finished.

This song says, “I will be crucified with Christ,” (Galatians 2:20) choosing obedience over comfort. It matches their unwavering faith.
Faithful obedience leaves a lasting legacy. The choices we make today echo into tomorrow, shaping who we are and how God’s story is told through us. Tomorrow, we will meet another faith giant whose trust in God changed everything.
If you’ve never surrendered to Jesus or have strayed, it’s not too late. He’s waiting to restore and renew you. Return to Him today and say this out loud:
~ Dear Heavenly Father ~
Thank You for sending Jesus to die on the Cross just for me. I admit that I have sinned, and I repent. I ask You to forgive me. I believe that He died and rose again. Right now, I make Him the Lord of my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. My sins are washed away, my past is forgiven, and my future is bright. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ Name Amen.
Make today count and see you tomorrow.
