Obedience matters. Every choice we make carries weight, shaping the life we live and the legacy we leave. Today we’ll see how faith and trust in God made all the difference for someone who chose to follow Him fully.
Faith is not always about victory we can see. Sometimes it is about holding on when the world is against us, when unexpected events happen around us, and when it seems like God is silent.
John gives us a glimpse of these faithful ones in Revelation.
“Then I looked, and behold, under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held. And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, will You not judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” (Revelation 6:9-10)
These were people who refused to deny Jesus, even when death was imminent, even when their voices could not change the world, even when the cost was their very lives.
God did not leave them without hope. He spoke to them: “And a white robe was given to each of them; and it was said to them that they should rest a little while longer, until both their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, were fulfilled. (Revelation 6:11)
Faith holds on even when justice seems delayed.
Faith trusts God to honor every sacrifice.
Faith waits for the perfect timing of the One who judges righteously.
Theirs was not a faith that abandoned hope. It was a faith that leaned in. A faith that pressed on through suffering. A faith that remained pure in the fire.
And that same faith calls us today: to remain steadfast, to trust God with what we cannot see, to lift our eyes to eternity rather than be overwhelmed by what is temporary.
Faith holds on, even when it costs everything, because God is in us, works through us, is for us… like no one on earth ever could be. And, He is our vindicator. “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.” (Psalms 23:5)

Faithful obedience leaves a lasting legacy. The choices we make today echo into tomorrow, shaping who we are and how God’s story is told through us. Tomorrow, we will meet another faith giant whose trust in God changed everything.
If you’ve never surrendered to Jesus or have strayed, it’s not too late. He’s waiting to restore and renew you. Return to Him today and say this out loud:
~ Dear Heavenly Father ~
Thank You for sending Jesus to die on the Cross just for me. I admit that I have sinned, and I repent. I ask You to forgive me. I believe that He died and rose again. Right now, I make Him the Lord of my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. My sins are washed away, my past is forgiven, and my future is bright. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ Name Amen.
Make today count and see you tomorrow.
