Obedience matters. Every choice we make carries weight, shaping the life we live and the legacy we leave. Today we’ll see how faith and trust in God made all the difference for someone who chose to follow Him fully.
Then He said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and look at My hands. Put your hand into the wound in My side. Don’t be faithless any longer. Believe!” “My Lord and my God!” Thomas exclaimed. Then Jesus told him, “You believe because you have seen Me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing Me.” (John 20:27–29)
Thomas has carried the nickname “Doubting Thomas” for generations, but his story is not about failure, it’s about transformation. When the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!” he couldn’t bring himself to believe it. The grief was still too real, the loss felt too deep. He wanted proof, something he could see and touch. Jesus, in mercy and tenderness, gave it to him.
When Jesus appeared again, He didn’t shame Thomas. Instead, He invited him closer. “Put your finger here, and look at My hands.” What a picture of grace. Jesus met Thomas right where he was and turned his doubt into a declaration,“My Lord and my God!”
Faith doesn’t start big. The Bible says “as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.” (Roman’s12:3) It does begin with honest questions. Psalm 34:18 reminds us, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; He rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” Jesus didn’t reject Thomas for wrestling with disbelief, He invited him closer.
Hebrews 11:1 says, “Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.” Thomas had seen miracles before, yet this encounter showed him something greater, that real faith isn’t based on what we can prove, but on Who we trust.
Like Thomas, we may face moments when God feels silent or distant, when our eyes don’t see what our hearts are longing for. But faith holds on anyway. “For we live by believing and not by seeing.” (2 Corinthians 5:7)
And when Jesus said, “Blessed are those who believe without seeing Me,”He was speaking about everyone including you and me. Every time we choose to trust His Word above our feelings, every time we praise Him in spite of uncertainty, every time we believe without visible proof, we live out the blessing He spoke that day.
Faith beyond sight is not blind faith. It is anchored faith, knowing Him because we know Him in His Word, resting in the One who has never failed.

Faithful obedience leaves a lasting legacy. The choices we make today echo into tomorrow, shaping who we are and how God’s story is told through us.
Tomorrow, we’ll meet a disciple who stayed close to Jesus through every season, one whose faith remained rooted in love, John, the one who abided.
If you’ve never surrendered to Jesus or have strayed, it’s not too late. He’s waiting to restore and renew you. Return to Him today and say this out loud:
~ Dear Heavenly Father ~
Thank You for sending Jesus to die on the Cross just for me. I admit that I have sinned, and I repent. I ask You to forgive me. I believe that He died and rose again. Right now, I make Him the Lord of my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. My sins are washed away, my past is forgiven, and my future is bright. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ Name Amen.
Make today count and see you tomorrow.
