~Faith Steps Out~

05.November.2025

Obedience matters. Every choice we make carries weight, shaping the life we live and the legacy we leave. Today we’ll see how faith and trust in God made all the difference for someone who chose to follow Him fully.

“So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”” (Matthew‬ ‭14‬:‭29‬-‭31‬)

When Jesus called, only one man stepped out of the boat. The others stayed where it felt safe, but Peter chose to believe that if Jesus said Come, then even the impossible was possible. For a few miraculous moments, he did what no one but Jesus had ever done, he walked on water.

The only time Peter began to sink was when his focus shifted. As soon as his eyes left Jesus, the Word made flesh, and turned to the wind and the waves, a spirit of fear took over and faith failed. But even then, Jesus reached out His hand immediately and lifted him back up.

Peter wasn’t perfect, but he was willing. And God can do wonders with a willing heart. That same bold faith would later make him a cornerstone in the early Church. It was Peter who preached at Pentecost, and thousands were saved. It was Peter that God used to heal the sick, raise the dead, and he stood fearlessly before rulers.

And isn’t it beautiful that when Jesus chose only three disciples to be with Him during His most sacred moments, the raising of Jairus’ daughter, the glory of the Transfiguration, and the agony of Gethsemane, Peter was among them. Jesus didn’t choose him because he never failed, but because he never stopped following.

Faith that steps out doesn’t wait for perfect conditions. It trusts the voice that calls, even when the wind is strong and the waves are high. It keeps eyes fixed on Jesus, the Living Word, knowing that every step toward Him is a step into purpose.

Faithful obedience leaves a lasting legacy. The choices we make today echo into tomorrow, shaping who we are and how God’s story is told through us.

Tomorrow, we’ll meet a group of friends whose faith carried another to Jesus when he couldn’t get there on his own.

If you’ve never surrendered to Jesus or have strayed, it’s not too late. He’s waiting to restore and renew you. Return to Him today and say this out loud:

~ Dear Heavenly Father ~

Thank You for sending Jesus to die on the Cross just for me. I admit that I have sinned, and I repent. I ask You to forgive me. I believe that He died and rose again. Right now, I make Him the Lord of my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. My sins are washed away, my past is forgiven, and my future is bright. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ Name Amen.

Make today count and see you tomorrow.
