~Faith Trusts God~

31.October.2025

Obedience matters. Every choice we make carries weight, shaping the life we live and the legacy we leave. Today we’ll pause to reflect on how faith carried God’s people through the promise, all the way to its fulfillment in Jesus.

As I look back over the stories we’ve witnessed this week, David, Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, Joshua, Esther, Abraham, and Gideon, I can’t help but see a thread that ties them all together. Every single one of them trusted God when they could not see the outcome. Their obedience was not perfect, but it was real.

Each story tells us something about God’s heart. He is faithful. He is patient. He honors the smallest step of faith. And through every test, every delay, and every act of courage, He was shaping something far bigger than any of them could imagine. He was preparing the world for His Son.

What amazes me most is that they believed without the written Word we now hold in our hands. They had no full Bible to turn to, no written promises to study, no gospel accounts to reassure them, yet they trusted God anyway. They listened to His voice, responded in obedience, and walked in faith based on what they knew of His character. And that kind of trust humbles me.

When we read the Old Testament, we are not just reading history; we are watching the slow unfolding of a promise. Every act of faith was a whisper pointing toward what was to come. David’s victory over Goliath hinted at a greater victory over sin and death. Daniel’s deliverance from the lions foreshadowed God’s power to save His own from destruction. Esther’s courage reflected the kind of bold obedience that would one day be seen in Jesus Himself.

These were not just stories of people who believed in God, they were stories of God revealing Himself through people who dared to believe.

It reminds me that faith does not end with the promise, it continues into the fulfillment. What began as shadows in the Old Testament finds its full light in Jesus. He is the greater David, the greater Daniel, the greater Esther. He is the One who faced the ultimate battle, who stood firm, who obeyed perfectly so that we could receive His grace and be saved.

The faith giants of old looked forward to what we now know. We have the indwelling Spirit of God, the finished work of Jesus, and the authority of His name for every wall, every battle, every waiting season. We are called to rely on God’s voice, always confirming it through His Word, as He shows us the way and strengthens us to obey. Their faith shines as a reminder that trust does not depend on how much we know, but on Who we know and how consistently we follow Him.

The promise has been fulfilled, but the journey of faith continues.

Faithful obedience leaves a lasting legacy. The choices we make today echo into tomorrow, shaping who we are and how God’s story is told through us.

As we move into the New Testament, we see faith take on flesh and grace walk among us. The giants of old looked forward in hope, and now we look back in awe at what God has done through Jesus. Yet the same call remains, to trust, to obey, and to leave a legacy of faith that still speaks long after we are gone.

Faith was never meant to end with belief; it was meant to move us. We are now the hands and feet of Jesus, carrying His compassion, His truth, and His power into a world still waiting to know Him. The authority that once brought walls down and silenced lions now lives within us through His Spirit.

So as we walk forward, may our faith not only remember what God has done but respond to what He is doing through us, listening for His voice, confirming it through His Word, and stepping boldly where He leads. Because faith that follows Jesus leaves footprints that others can follow too.

If you’ve never surrendered to Jesus or have strayed, it’s not too late. He’s waiting to restore and renew you. Return to Him today and say this out loud:

~ Dear Heavenly Father ~

Thank You for sending Jesus to die on the Cross just for me. I admit that I have sinned, and I repent. I ask You to forgive me. I believe that He died and rose again. Right now, I make Him the Lord of my life. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit. My sins are washed away, my past is forgiven, and my future is bright. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ Name Amen.

Make today count and see you tomorrow.
